Kenyan rescue workers and military personnel remove the body of a man killed when a building under construction collapsed in Kiambu town, 20 km (12 miles) northeast of Nairobi October 20, 2009. Up to 20 people were feared dead in Kenya on Tuesday after the five-storey building under construction collapsed, trapping workers under piles of rubble.

Nigerian militant youths display weapons surrendered by former militants at an arms collection centre at Tourist beach in the oil hub Port Harcourt, October 3, 2009. Hundreds of Nigerian rebel fighters gave up their weapons and accepted an amnesty deal on Saturday in the most concerted effort yet to end years of fighting in the oil-producing Niger Delta. Militant commanders Ateke Tom and Farah Dagogo, both responsible for years of attacks on the oil industry in the eastern Niger Delta, led gunmen from camps in the mangrove creeks to the oil hub of Port Harcourt to disarm. Diallo was wounded during a crackdown on an opposition rally. U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay condemned on Wednesday what she called Mondays blood bath in Guinea and called for an independent investigation into the affair.
